01 Builder Warranty for New Homes

The length of coverage varies depending on the component of the house.

• One year: Coverage for workmanship and materials on most components expires after the first year.  For example, we cover siding and stucco, doors and trim, flooring, and plaster and paint during the first year.
• Two years: Coverage for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems is two years.
• 10 years:  We provide coverage for up to 10 years for “major structural defects,” defined as problems that make a home unsafe and put the owner in danger. For example, a roof that could collapse is a “major structural defect."

02 Service Contracts

We offer service contracts to our clients for existing homes.  A service contract can help you fix or maintain products like appliances and air conditioning systems for a specific time — like a warranty. But, unlike a warranty, service contracts cost extra. 

03 Whats Not Covered

Our new home warranties don’t cover out-of-pocket expenses resulting from a major construction defect or warranty repair, like the cost of moving out of your home and living somewhere else while repairs are made.

We also usually don’t cover

• household appliances
• small cracks in brick, tile, cement, or drywall
• components covered under a manufacturer’s warranty
